Sand Profile was founded by Angela and Werner Sand on January 1, 1983. Since March 1, 1983, the company has become a privately-held corporation.

Self-extinguishing qualities

Several materials have been examined by the "Institute f¨¹r Schienenfahrzeuge GmbH" (Institute for track vehicles) in Berlin according to DIN 54837 (ASTM D 1418 black, ASTM D 1418 grey and chloroprene rubber black) for their combustibility properties. The evaluation according to DIN 5510, part 2, to ASTM (American regulations) and to NF (French regulations) led to the following results: - Combustibility category S4 - Smoke development category SR2 - Liquidity due to fire, category ST2 Further self-extinguishing qualities of ASTM D 1418 microcellular rubber are currently being examined.

Current-conducting EMC profiles

New safety regulations regarding electromagnetic radiation at the workplace necessitate high quality down to the smallest component. We are in a position to equip various profiles with current-conducting properties to help you meet these requirements.

Electrically-insulating qualities

Our ASTM D 1418 mixture 769 (60 Shore A) has been authorised for use with up to 6000 volts. Therefore, it is perfectly suited for use in welding torches or robots. our product range is completed by edging profiles, door- sealing profiles, finger-guard profiles and rubber-metal joints. To meet market requirements, we have received certification for DIN EN ISO 9001 in April of 2001.

Tailor-made solutions

With our ultramodern production facilities such as a CNC water-jet cutting unit, we are able to implement our customers' specific requests. Production of any fixed profile length poses no problem to us nor does the production of vulcanised or bonded frames and rings.
